On this 8-day tour of the best of Lebanon, we'll travel to the most important cities in the country, such as Tripoli, Sidon and Harissa, and we'll lodge in Beirut.
8-Day Tour Details
Day 1: Beirut
Once you've arrived at the airport in Beirut, we'll be waiting to bring you to the hotel in the Lebanese capital where we'll be staying.
Day 2: Tyre - Sidon - Beirut
We'll have breakfast at the hotel in Beirut and then begin this 8-day tour of Lebanon. On this day, we'll tour the south of Lebanon, by visiting the city of Tyre in the morning and its amazing complex of Roman, Phoenicians, Greek and Byzantine ruins.
That evening, we'll make our way to Sidon, also known as Saida and visit its castle, the old town, the souk, and the fishing area.
The day will finish by returning to the hotel in Beirut.
Day 3: Byblos - Tripoli - Beirut
After breakfast, we'll get on our way to discover Byblos and Tripoli, two of Lebanon's historic cities. In Byblos, we'll admire the Phoenician walls, the Roman theatre, the Crusader Castle, the San Juan Bautista Church and the harbour.
That evening, we'll visit Tripoli, one of the most important port cities in the Middle East. We'll see the citadel and its temples and pass through its souks.
Afterwards, we'll return to Beirut.
Day 4: Anjar - Baalbeck - Beirut
After having breakfast, we'll make our way to the Bekaa Valley to visit Anjar, where we'll see its Umayyad ruins and learn about its history during the time of the Sultans.
Next, we'll travel to Baelbeck, where we'll explore its impressive Roman ruins, passing between the temples of Jupiter, Venus and Baco. Upon return to Beirut, we'll visit a Ksara Winery to try its wine, one of the most famous products in the area.
Once back at the hotel in Beirut, we'll rest until the following day.
Day 5: Deir Kamal - Beit Ed Dine - Beirut
Once we've finished breakfast, we'll head towards the Chouf Region. We'll cross this mountainous area rife with vegetation in order to reach Deir Kamal, the capital of Mount Lebanon. We'll see its rock structures and its old streets, as well as one of the oldest mosques in Lebanon, and its octagonal-shaped minaret.
Following on, we'll make our way to Beit Ed Dine, where we'll visit its 19th-century palace, which was once the governor's residence. Afterwards, we'll return to Beirut, where you'll have the rest of the evening off to explore the Lebanese capital at your own pace. We recommend visiting the National Museum, which is home to many pieces from the prehistoric and Byzantine periods.
Day 6: Harissa - Jeita - Fakraa - Beirut
On the 6th day, we'll visit Harissa, where the Church of Our Lady of Lebanon can be found, located at the highest point on the mountain. We'll hop on a cable car, which will allow us to enjoy the views of Junieh Bay.
After this, we'll make our way to the Jeita Grotto, two interconnected caves that stretch 650 m (2132 ft.) deep and are situated beside the Kahr al-Kalb River, which translates to Dog River. Then, we'll pass by Fakraa to discover its beautiful Phoenician ruins.
Finally, we'll return to the hotel in Beirut to rest.
Day 7: Beirut
On the seventh day, you'll have free to explore Beirut, go shopping, or take part in an activity that you've always wanted to do.
Day 8: Beirut
After eating breakfast, we'll head to the Beirut Airport at the scheduled time.
