Delve deep into the fascinating past of the Slovakian capital on this guided English language tour. Explore the main places of interest in Bratislava's historic centre and discover its two legendary castles.
Bratislava Castles Guided Tour Itinerary
After being picked up from your hotel in Bratislava, you'll begin your guided tour of the city, getting to know its most iconic landmarks and the history that surrounds them.
The first part of your tour will take you on a route round the Slovakian capital's most emblematic sights by minibus. See the Grassalkovich Palace, a Rococo-Baroque summer palace and the residence of the President of Slovakia; the Slovak National Theatre or Opera House; the modern Eurovea district; the bridges and banks of the Danube and the remains of the city's ancient fortified walls.
You'll make a stop at Bratislava Castle. This immense rectangular building towers over the Danube, and the imposing sight of the castle has dominated the city for centuries. Thanks to its hilltop position, the castle affords magnificent views over the city and the river below.
Continuing your route along the course of the Danube, you'll next reach the ruins of Devín Castle. One of the oldest castles in the country, the fortress has been inhabited by Celts, Romans, Germans and Slavs over the course of many centuries, finally being destroyed by Napoleon's armies.
Located on a hill next to the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers, the iconic ruins are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. Don't forget your camera for the stunning views of the Slovakian countryside!
Your tour will end in the centre of Bratislava.
