Take a Buquebus ferry from Argentina to Uruguay, on this day trip to Colonia del Sacramento from Buenos Aires! Enjoy a World Heritage Site, where you'll also have a bike rental included.
Activity Details
At the indicated time, meet us at the Buquebus terminal at the Puerto Madero dock. From this point in Buenos Aires, we'll set sail on a comfortable ferry to Uruguay, where we'll munch on a sandwich, a cereal bar and a drink included on board.
After an hour's crossing of the River Plate, we'll arrive at the port of Colonia del Sacramento. After we disembark, you'll need to pick up your bicycle at the terminal's dock in Colonia so that you can explore the historic center of this Uruguayan city, declared a World Heritage Site, at your own pace.
You'll be able to cycle at your own pace through the picturesque streets of the old town of Colonia. We recommend visiting the lighthouse area and Plaza de Armas, where you'll find the Basilica del Santísimo Sacramento, a jewel of colonial architecture.
Don't miss the famous Calle de los Suspiros or the iconic Plaza de Toros Real de San Carlos, built in the neo-Mudejar style at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, in the historic center of Colonia, you can enjoy the famous Uruguayan gastronomy at any of the local restaurants nearby.
Finally, in the afternoon, you'll return your bike at the port of Colonia 1 hour before the departure of your ferry. After a 1-hour crossing, we'll arrive at the Buquebus dock in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, where this 11-hour experience will end.
