After being picked up from your hotel at the indicated time, you'll begin your tour of the main churches in Apokoronas, a picturesque region to the northeast of Chania. Discover the area's exceptional natural beauty; admire its rolling mountains, stunning coastline and luscious vegetation.

See the evidence of the island's multicultural past with your own eyes at a beautiful Byzantine church, almost completely hidden in the trees, where you can appreciate how far the Ottoman influence and symbols of Constantinople travelled across the Empire.

Continuing your journey over to a nearby village, you'll visit a Catholic church built in the 15th century. Inside, see the recent excavations indicating that people have been worshipping here as far back as the 8th century, and learn how the area links to ancient Greek monastic traditions. Your next visit will be to a glorious church in the foothills of the White Mountains of Apokoronas which represents a symbol of the Cretan effort in their struggle against the Venetians.

Your last stop will be a charming 13th century village church which is still to this day popular as a pilgrimage church. Finally, have a well-deserved rest at a local kafaneion, a traditional Greek tavern, and enjoy delicious local cuisine before heading back to your hotel in Chania.
