Explore historic Chania on three wheels with a Trikke. This modern electric tricycle will allow you to discover the charm of the Greek city without sacrificing fun and comfort.
Itinerary
After meeting in the heart of Chania, you'll begin your exploration of the city on a Trikke, a super easy and fun way of getting around. Riding the comfortable electric tricycle you'll delve deep into the narrow streets of Chania's historic centre and discover its charm while travelling sustainably. While getting to know the customs and traditions of Crete accompanied by your English speaking guide, you'll zoom round several of its different districts including Topanas, Kasteli and Colombo.
Your Trikke tour will continue to the Venetian port, where you can admire the unique architecture of its lighthouse, a symbol of Chania. Having passed the beautifully intricate Yali Mosque at the harbour, you'll head to Kydonia, the archaeological site of the ruins of ancient Crete. Discover interesting facts about the Minoan civilisation, one of Europe's oldest civilisations and amongst the most advanced of its time.
After a short break, you'll continue pedalling towards Splantzia Square. Absorb the sheer amount of cultural history on this island as you pass the Ottoman minaret, the Jewish synagogue and various Venetian monuments. In Splantzia Square you'll find the Church of Agios Nikolaos, the biggest church in Crete, and one which is filled with Venetian symbology.
To end your Trikke tour, you'll ride alongside the Sampionara, or Sand Gate and Koum Kapi beach. For the finishing touch, you'll visit the knife-making shops preserving one of the island's traditional crafts.
