Free Walking Tour of Estepona
Did you know that Estepona is known as the garden of the Costa del Sol? You'll soon find out why on our free walking tour! After meeting at 11 am in Plaza Antonia Guerrero, we'll begin exploring the historic centre of Estepona.
Firstly, we'll head to the Paseo de los Poetas Andaluces, where we'll find statues of famous Andalusian writers such as Vicente Alexandre, Luis Cernuda and Antonio Hernandez.
Our next stop will be in front of the Church of Los Remedios, an impressive 18th century Rococo style building. Its curious mix of architectural and decorative styles reflects its past as a Franciscan monastery as well as the region's colonial history. As we admire the church's facade, we'll talk about the Holy Week in Estepona and the town's Catholic brotherhoods.
Next, our free walking tour will bring us to the historic Clock Tower, the Archaeological Museum, the ruins of the Castillo de San Luis or the Casa de las Tejerinas. As we explore, we'll learn all about the history and interesting facts of these unique places in Estepona.
After discovering Estepona's most emblematic monuments, we'll stroll through the town's streets to admire its typical houses and their delightful floral decorations. More than 10,000 pots filled with vibrantly coloured varieties of geranium bring a special charm to this picturesque Malaga town!
We'll finish the tour at 12:30 pm back at the original starting point.
