A unique combination of contemporary art and religious architecture awaits you if you book this ticket to Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey. You'll be able to visit this Cistercian monument and discover over 1000 works of art.

Why Visit Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey?

Located in the municipality of Ginals, Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey is a perfect example of a typical 12th-century Cistercian building. By booking this ticket, you can visit this monument at your own pace and learn all about its history.

Also known as Belloc Abbey, this church is a testament to the Gothic aesthetic of the Cistercian Order during the Middle Ages. Its perfectly preserved facade has survived various wars and revolts. In fact, during the French Revolution, the abbey lost its original function and was used as a farm.

It wasn't until 1959 that the monument truly shone in its deserved splendor. It was during this period that patrons and collectors Geneviève Bonnefoi and Pierre Brache decided to transform the abbey into a contemporary art museum.

During your visit, you can see more than 1000 works dating from 1940 to 1970. The exhibition features paintings by renowned artists such as Dubuffet, Michaux, and Hantaï, all displayed within the incomparable setting of this beautiful medieval abbey.
