Tour the main monuments of Vietnam's capital with this guided tour of Hanoi. Learn about the culture and history of the country, and the most picturesque corners of the old town.
We'll pick you up from your hotel first thing in the morning, and from there make our way to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and its museum, where we'll learn about the life of the founder of the old Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and one of the most important historical figures in the country.
Having visited the tomb of 'Uncle Ho' as he was popularly known in Vietnam, we'll head to the One Pillar Pagoda, known since its construction in the 11th century for its singular beauty.
Later, we'll continue our guided tour, taking in the Tran Quoc Buddhist pagoda, one of the oldest in the country. And if you reserve the tour on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday we'll visit Bat Trang, a little village famous for its artisanal porcelain. Here you'll have time to visit the shops, buy a souvenir and eat in a local restaurant.
If, on the other hand, you reserve your tour on Tuesday, Thursday or over the weekend, we'll visit the Ethnological Museum, where we'll dive deeper into the history and culture of the country. In this case, we'll eat before visiting the museum, enjoying the best of Vietnamese cuisine in a local restaurant.
Having eaten and taken a moment to relax, we'll visit the Temple of Literature, also known as the Imperial Academy or Quoc Tu Guiam. This beautiful, thousand year old temple is home to the best university in the country, nestling amongst its meticulous ornamental gardens.
Later we'll head to the Ngoc Son temple, the most important in Hanoi. This sanctuary can be found in the middle of the Hoan Kiem lake, and to get to it you'll have to cross the famous red Huc bridge: a perfect photo opportunity!
Before the tour ends, we'll head to the Hanoi old town, where you'll have free time to tour its streets, doing a little shopping and exploring local life in the Vietnamese capital.
Then around 4 pm we'll accompany you back to the hotel where we picked you up.
