I loved. Very attentive who took us in the van. It was a relaxed outing, without rushing, and also very fun surrounding the dunes in a 4x4, with stops to get into the water from time to time, while enjoying some food and drink.

Discover Jericoacoara: Tours & Activities in Brazil

Jericoacoara, or simply Jeri, is a true paradise hidden in northern Brazil. Surrounded by sweeping sand dunes, crystal-clear lagoons, and the warm waters of the Atlantic, this laid-back village is ideal for those seeking adventure and relaxation in a natural setting. Its rustic charm, vibrant local culture, and incredible sunsets attract travelers from all over the world.

A Glimpse into the Past

Originally a remote fishing village, Jericoacoara remained largely untouched for centuries due to its isolation. In recent decades, it has gained popularity as a travel hotspot, while still preserving its rustic roots and slow-paced way of life. The region’s unique blend of cultures, shaped by indigenous, Portuguese, and African influences, is visible everywhere—from its cuisine to its local traditions.

When to Visit

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from July to December, when the skies are clear and the sun shines brightly. Wind sports enthusiasts, however, might prefer August to November, when the reliable winds make conditions perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Is Jericoacoara safe for tourists?

Yes, Jeri is considered safe for visitors. Like in any tourist destination, it’s good to take basic precautions and keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded areas or at night.

How do I get there?

The village is accessed via a 4x4 transfer from the nearest airport, as there are no paved roads leading directly to the center. This journey across sand dunes is part of the adventure!

What should I pack?

Bring lightweight clothes, swimwear, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes for walking on sand. Don’t forget a windbreaker if you plan to enjoy wind sports.
