Description
Would you like to discover the fascinating nature of Margarita Island? At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel and start an adventure to explore the island's tallest mountain.
First of all, we'll travel in a comfortable minibus to La Asunción, the capital of Nueva Esparta, to visit its main monuments. We'll visit Plaza Bolivar, where we'll find the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the Casa de la Cultura Monseñor Nicolás Navarro.
After visiting La Asunción, we'll start to climb the tallest mountain on the island, where a great variety of fauna and flora awaits us. During the ascent, we'll stop at a cocoa plantation, where we'll learn how the locals work with one of Venezuela's most prized products.
When we reach the start of the La Sierra trail, we'll embark on a 2-hour trekking route, which will take us to the highest part. During the hike, we'll make several stops at different viewpoints to make the route as easy as possible. Rest assured, it will be worth the effort!
When we reach the top of La Sierra, we'll get fascinating views of Porlamar and Margarita Island. We'll also visit the Basilica of Our Lady of El Valle, the island's patron saint. To regain energy, we'll take you to a restaurant for a full traditional lunch consisting of a fish empanada—it will be delicious!
With your appetite satiated, we'll return to your hotel after a 5 to 6-hour tour.
