The Chapel Bridge, the Water Tower and many more surprises await you on this guided tour of Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most beautiful cities.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Information Office at Lucerne train station. There, we'll begin to unravel the origins of a city that flourished along medieval trade routes. Let's get started!

We'll begin with a walk to the banks of the River Reuss and admire the famous Kapellbrücke, or Chapel Bridge, whose wooden structure dates back to the 14th century. Did you know that its painted panels depict historical and religious episodes that served to educate the inhabitants of the time who could not read?

From there, we'll also see the Water Tower, which served a variety of purposes, including as a prison, municipal archive and even a torture chamber.

A few steps away, we'll see the Jesuit Church or Jesuitenkirche, the first large Baroque religious building in Switzerland. Its white façades, crowned by elegant domes, contrast perfectly with the mountainous landscape of the Alps. This will be the perfect moment to take a postcard-worthy photo!

We'll also stop at Hirschenplatz, one of the most charming squares in Lucerne's historic centre. Here, we'll be captivated by the intricately painted façades. The surrounding buildings feature 17th-century murals depicting guilds, mythological scenes and everyday episodes of urban life.

Afterwards, we'll head to the entrance of the KKL Luzern cultural centre, designed by the prestigious architect Jean Nouvel. Its rooftop terrace suspended over Lake Lucerne and the clean lines of its design pay homage to the natural environment that surrounds it.

Finally, after 1.5 hours, we'll conclude this walking tour of Lucerne at this last stop.
