Located in the artist's birthplace in the heart of Malaga's historic centre, the Pablo Picasso Museum is the perfect place to discover the life and works of the legendary Spanish artist.
What to expect from the Picasso Museum?
"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls". So said Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Malaga's best-known painter and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century... and what better place to embrace his art than in his birthplace, now a fascinating museum dedicated to showcasing his life?
Within the walls of the artist's former home, you'll be immersed in the world of Picasso. You'll be able to explore at your own pace, discovering the different rooms and the art and personal belongings of the painter thanks to the explanations of an audioguide in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Chinese.
Admire prints, paintings and other works by Picasso himself as well as a collection of personal items, giving you incomparable insight into the creative universe of the iconic artist. Amongst the exhibitions, the sketchbook of preparatory drawings for "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon", or "The Young Ladies of Avignon", is a particular highlight, as is the large display of lithographs and an interesting collection of beautifully decorated ceramics.
