Real del Monte & Basaltic Prisms Tour
Real del Monte & Basaltic Prisms Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Hotel Sheraton María Isabel and depart from Mexico City, heading toward the state of Hidalgo.
Our first stop will be at Mexico's first Pueblo Mágico: Huasca de Ocampo, where we will take a short stroll through its colonial buildings, cobblestone streets, and the Iglesia de Juan el Bautista.
Next, we'll head to the Peña del Aire; its prime location, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, and its unique biodiversity within the Barranca de Metztitlán make it one of the most impressive highlights of our tour.
Afterward, we'll head to the Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla, hexagonal rock formations that reach up to 98 ft (30 m) in height. As if that weren't enough, the landscape is completed by four waterfalls fed by the San Antonio Dam. It's a truly unique sight!
We'll continue the tour to the Mina Acosta in the magical town of Real del Monte, where we'll explain how the mine operates and learn about the entire metal extraction process in the area and how this helped develop the mining region.
Finally, we'll sample a delicious paste. Did you know this is a symbol of Hidalgo's cuisine? We'll try it together!
Finally, we'll return to the starting point, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of 12 hours.
