How does the Miami Water Taxi work?
Looking for the most fun way to get between downtown Miami and Miami Beach? Once you have your Water Taxi ticket, you’ll enjoy a roughly 30-minute ride through Biscayne Bay while taking in unique views of the “Magic City’s” most iconic landmarks.
During the booking process, you can choose your departure point, and depending on the direction of your trip, you’ll enjoy different views aboard the Miami Water Taxi.
If you’re traveling from Bayside to South Beach, you’ll cruise past the luxurious residences of Hibiscus, Palm, Star, and Sunset Islands, as well as the famous Venetian Islands. Get your camera ready to spot celebrity homes!
On the other hand, if you take the reverse route, that is, from South Beach to Bayside, you’ll pass by exclusive Fisher Island, the vibrant Port of Miami, and the modern skyscrapers of Brickell Key at the mouth of the Miami River.
On both routes, you’ll witness panoramic views of the third-tallest skyline in the United States, a collection of over 300 buildings that create a unique vista from the water.
Taxi Options
When booking, you can choose from the following options based on your preferences:
- One-way from Bayside to South Beach
- One-way from South Beach to Bayside
- Round-trip from Bayside to South Beach
- Round-trip from South Beach to Bayside
If you choose one of the round-trip options, you’ll have the freedom to get off at your destination and take any return boat later that same day. You must arrange your return time with the captain before disembarking at your first stop.

- Bayside Marketplace: If you’re departing from Bayside, you must board the boat at 401 Biscayne Blvd
- Miami Beach Marina: If you’re departing from South Beach, you must board the boat at 300 Alton Road
