Teatro alla Scala Guided Tour
Tour Details
Accompanied by a guide with a passion for music and history, we'll step inside the famous Teatro alla Scala, built in the 18th century and now one of the most famous opera houses in the world. The world’s finest singers have performed here for over 200 years.
During the tour, we'll admire the auditorium from the balcony, taking in every detail of the boxes, the stage, the stalls and the main hall. The latter is decorated with gilded stucco and a huge chandelier featuring 383 bulbs. During our visit, we may even come across a rehearsal, allowing us to see how the performers prepare for their shows.
We'll also visit the Museo alla Scala, where we can view an extensive collection of costumes, paintings, musical instruments and portraits, including those of famous Italian musical masters such as Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini.
We'll conclude the tour by returning to the main entrance of the theatre, the most famous in Lombardy and one of Europe’s most important ‘temples of music’.
