Ready to enjoy the atmosphere of Mexican bars? We’ll meet on Francisco Ignacio Madero Avenue, where we’ll begin our tour of Monterrey’s cantinas. On this route, we’ll visit 3 traditional establishments in the city center, enjoying a complimentary drink at each one.
We’ll begin this walking tour of Monterrey by heading to La Bohemia restaurant, where we’ll learn about its history, its characteristic atmosphere, and its importance as a meeting point for several generations of locals, known as regiomontanos, the people from the capital of Nuevo León.
The next stop will be at the Zacatecas restaurant-bar, a cantina dating back to 1949 that specializes in grilled products. Inside, we’ll enjoy the music and the classic atmosphere that defines traditional cantinas in downtown Monterrey. We’ll discover why it’s so popular among locals!
Finally, we’ll head to La Nacional, one of the city’s most well-known cantinas. There, we’ll explore anecdotes about its history and the notable figures from Monterrey who have visited this iconic establishment.
