We'll meet at the designated time at Calle La Gaceta, 1282, to give you a brief introductory talk about using the e-bikes and some recommendations to make the most of this tour of Montevideo. Ready to cycle around Uruguay's capital?
We'll begin our route by making our way to Montevideo Shopping, a symbol of modernity in the city. From here, we'll head over to the Hospital Clinic and the Centenario Stadium, where you'll learn about the importance of this football temple.
Our journey will continue to the Municipal Velodrome and the Fuente Morquio while we enjoy the peacefulness of our surroundings and find out about their cultural relevance. Along the way, we'll also pass the Monumento a los Constituyentes before arriving at Avenida 18 de Julio, Montevideo's commercial and social hub.
In Plaza Independencia, the historical heart of the city, we'll stop in front of Salvo Palace and the Artigas Mausoleum, the final resting place of this national hero. We'll continue onto the Gateway of the Citadel and Peatonal Sarandí which will lead us to Plaza Matrix and the majestic Solís Theatre, a cultural symbol that will astound you.
From the historical centre, we'll head over to the Rambla Costanera, the ideal spot to enjoy the sea breeze and views of Río de la Plata.
As we cycle, we'll also pass the Mercosur Building, the American Embassy, and the extensive and green Rodó Park, where we'll also see the Verano Theatre and the Memorial to the Holocaust of the Jewish People, a place filled with memories and symbolism.
Our tour will culminate in the picturesque Pocitos neighbourhood, where you can take a photo next to the Montevideo sign, the best keepsake to immortalise this experience.
Lastly, after 3 hours and 25 kilometres (15.5 miles), this tour will come to an end at our original meeting point.
