During this guided tour of Nairobi, we'll delve into the rich history of Kenya's capital, exploring iconic destinations like the National Museum and the unmissable KICC.
When making your reservation, you can choose between two options, each starting at Simba Street, lasting four hours, and featuring an English-speaking guide. Below, you can find the unique details of each route:
During this tour, we'll explore the heart of Nairobi, beginning with a visit to the Central Business District, where you can marvel at the city's impressive skyscrapers. Within this area, notable attractions include the National Archives of Kenya, the August 7th Memorial Park, and the Kenyatta Mausoleum.
Close by, you'll see significant landmarks deeply woven into the city's history, including the Hilton Hotel and the Kenyatta International Convention Center. The latter, an imposing 28-story skyscraper, is the primary venue for Nairobi international trade fairs and conventions.
Next, our journey will lead us past the Parliament and government offices in the heart of Nairobi. Following this, we'll stroll over to the National Museum to explore its interior and immerse ourselves in significant pieces of the country's culture, including tribal wear and Kenya's rich flora and fauna.
To conclude our tour, we'll explore the vibrant Nairobi market, providing the perfect opportunity to savor local cuisine and discover unique crafts and artisanal creations.
If you're interested in delving into Nairobi's history, this guided tour is tailor-made for you. To kick things off, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of the city center, offering glimpses of prominent landmarks such as the National Archives, the statue of Tom Mboya, and the monument dedicated to Dedan Kimathi.
Our journey will then take us along the iconic Kenyatta Avenue, where we'll pass by notable sites like the General Post Office, Nyayo House, and the memorial honoring Galton-Fenzi, the founder of the East African Automobile Association.
The next stop is the Nairobi Art Gallery, housed in what was once the headquarters of the Provincial Commissioner's Offices. You'll be amazed by its history! We'll pass by the Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park, built to honor the memory of Nobel Prize winner Wangari Maathai.
In addition, we'll visit City Hall, the Kenyatta International Convention Center, and the August 7 Memorial Park. Finally, we'll enter the Railway Museum, where we'll find steam locomotives with great stories to tell, such as Superintendent John Lyall, devoured by a lion in Tsavo.
