Excursion to Monte Albán & Villages
Explore the ruins of Monte Albán on this day trip and delve into Mexican tradition, history and culture by visiting the villages of Arrazola and San Bartolo Coyotepec.
Excursion to Monte Albán & Villages
We'll pick you up at 8 am from your hotel in Oaxaca and set off to the archaeological site of Monte Alban. One of the most important discoveries of the Zapotec civilisation.
We'll visit its residential structures, pyramids, temples and altars. Do you want to know what rites were practised there? Pay attention to the guide's explanations! Nearby, we'll visit the pre-Hispanic jewellery shop to see the replicas of the aboriginal jewellery, which will fascinate you!
Our next stop will be the village of Arrazola to see its traditional Alebrijes, colourful wooden figures that are an important part of Mexican culture.
The route will continue to San Bartolo Coyotepec to visit a black clay workshop. These natural pieces are an icon of the town. There, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch.
Finally, at 4 pm, we'll take you back to your hotel in Oaxaca.
Hotel pick-up
Pick up will be from hotels in the historic centre of Oaxaca and in the Colonia Trinidad Huertas.
