Defensive walls and historic castles: discover one of the most important medieval architectural sites in Catalonia with this free walking tour of Peratallada.

Free Walking Tour of Peratallada

We'll meet at Castle Square at the scheduled time ready to start our free walking tour of Peratallada, located in the heart of the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia.

During the free tour, we'll walk through the ancient streets of this Catalan town and discover its magnificent complex of houses and buildings, which have been declared a historic and artistic heritage site. Did you know that the medieval centre of Peratallada is one of the best-preserved in Catalonia?

We'll continue our route to the defensive stone battlements of Torre del Homenaje and Torre de las Horas. As we stroll along Carrer de la Roca, we'll learn curious facts about these emblematic places.

Of course, we'll pay special attention to the ancient defensive wall of Peratallada, whose name actually means "carved stone". Throughout the tour, we'll hear all about the medieval history of this picturesque town, which is surrounded by an impressive moat up to 8 metres deep in some places.

After an hour of discovering Peratallada's main places of interest, we'll finish the tour in Plaça de les Voltes.

This free walking tour of Peratallada does not accept bookings for groups of more than 6 people.
