We loved our guide, José Antonio. You can tell he loves what he does. Everything was very organized, and our driver, Jesús, was very professional. The day was pleasant and fun. Interesting explanations. We learned about and explored the island and its gastronomy.

Activity Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria that you have chosen in your booking. Are you ready to discover the flavors of the island?

We'll start the tour by driving to Arucas. In this beautiful town in the north of Gran Canaria, we'll first visit the Arehucas distillery, where we'll discover how rum is made from sugar cane. At the end of the tour of the factory, those who wish will be able to taste different types of rum on their own.

After visiting the distillery, the tour continues with a visit to the Banana Museum. As we tour the exhibit, we'll learn about the origins of this product, which has become a reference point in Canarian gastronomy. We'll also show you how to distinguish the native variety of the archipelago, which is characterized by its small size and its yellow color with brown speckles.

In the museum shop, you can buy wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and creams made from bananas. Afterward, we'll head to a local restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Gran Canarian recipes at your leisure. Your mouth will be watering with every dish!

After lunch, we'll continue our gastronomic route through the north of the island. If you enjoy the tour on a Tuesday, we'll visit the Los Olivos estate, while if you have the tour on a Thursday, we'll visit the Los Berrazales Winery. In both cases, we'll enjoy a tasting of its most popular products. Plus, you can enjoy a coffee and wine tasting and participate in a Canarian mojo workshop, where you'll learn how to make the typical sauces that are served with papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes).

At the end of the workshop, we'll return to the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria after 6 to 8 hours.
