Tour Details

After picking you up at your hotel in Puerto Plata or the cruise port, we'll travel for 30 minutes toward the Parque Nacional Isabel de Torres. Here, we'll go on an approximately 1-hour tour where we'll enjoy a walk and the views during the ascent.

At the top of the Monte Isabel de Torres, one of the most important landscapes in the city, you'll take in the splendid scenic views of the Atlantic coastline and the city of Puerto Plata. Did you know it's the tallest point in Puerto Plata?

Afterward,  we'll return to the vehicle and head to the rum factory, where we'll discover the elaboration process of one of the most important distilleries in the Caribbean. Sugarcane has been essential in the Dominican Republic's economy, and you'll soon see why with a tasting of several types of rum.

Then, we'll go on a quick drive toward the historic center of Puerto Plata, where we'll stop for about 10 minutes in the Cathedral of St. Philip the Apostle. This temple is known for its religious significance and for being the monumental heart of the city.

We'll continue the tour toward the famous Seguiremos hacia las famosas Calle de las Sombrillas and Calle Rosada, which have become two of the most photographed corners in the city center. Next, you'll have 30 minutes of free time to rest and stroll

Later, we'll regroup to enjoy a typical Dominican lunch, which will include rice with beans, meat or fish, patacones, and a drink. Plus, you'll taste an authentic artisanal chocolate.

After lunch, we'll head to the Malecón to dive into the maritime landscape of Puerto Plata. Our next stop? We'll search for the Fortaleza San Felipe, a defensive fortress erected in the 16th century to protect the bay from the attacks of pirates and privateers. Did you know it's one of the oldest Colonial fortresses in the Caribbean?

After this last visit of 20 minutes, we'll return to your hotel, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 6 hours.
