During the booking process, depending on the season of your trip, you'll be able to select between the following options:
Standard Winter Husky Sleigh Ride
At the appointed time, we'll pick you up from the center of Rovaniemi and head to the outskirts of the capital of Lapland to begin our adventure through the beautiful snow-covered landscapes.
We'll arrive at a husky farm, where we'll meet our new four-legged friends. An expert on this breed of dog, typical of Nordic countries and accustomed to living in low temperatures, will explain what daily life with them is like and what their habits are.
Then, let the action begin! We'll be given the necessary instructions to enjoy the experience with the utmost safety, and we'll climb aboard a sled pulled by huskies, where we'll enjoy a relaxing 7 to 10 km (4 to 6 mi) ride through this impressive natural landscape.
After a tour of the white blanket of Lapland, we'll return to the farm to shelter from the cold with the warmth of the bonfire and enjoy a hot drink and delicious gingerbread cookies. It's like Christmas all year round!
At the end of the activity, we'll drop you off at the meeting point in Rovaniemi, 3 to 3.5 hours later.
Husky-Drawn Cart Ride (Autumn)
During the fall season, or when there isn't enough snow in the winter, you can enjoy the same route as before. However, in this case, the ride will not take place on a sled over snow, but in a husky-drawn cart on dry ground.
Summer Husky Farm Experience
Summer in Lapland, once the snow has melted and temperatures rise, is a completely different world for mushers and their huskies. On this option, we'll head to a husky farm 30 minutes from Rovaniemi to discover what life is like at this time of year.
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation and travel to the farm, where you'll meet the Alaskan huskies and discover their remarkable abilities on a guided tour of the property. Along the way, you'll get a fascinating insight into the daily lives of the dogs and their mushers, and learn about musher life and Lapland culture more broadly.
The dogs are always keen for a run, so if the temperature is below 15°C (59°F), you'll head out on an 800-meter (0.5-mile) kart ride to see how they train and prepare for the winter season. Your guide will drive while you ride as a passenger.
After the ride, you'll have time to learn more about the huskies and life on the farm. These dogs love attention, so you'll get the chance to interact with them, and if there are any at the time, meet the puppies too. To finish, we'll enjoy drinks and snacks together.
We'll then take you back to your accommodation after approximately 3 hours.
