Delve into the spectacular wild Finnish fauna with this route along the trails and forests in Rovaniemi. Unique scenery can be enjoyed all year round!
We'll come and pick you up from your hotel at 10:30 am and then we'll head north to step into the most spectacular natural landscapes in Lapland. White paths, frozen trees, frost, and paw prints in the snow are just some of the surprises waiting for us in these Finnish landscapes.
Along the way, we might cross paths with weasels, wolverines, lynx, and reindeer. In this part of Rovaniemi, herds of the latter can often be found up close to groups of tourists. We'll also make the most of our trip Lapland's forests to learn how to start a fire in the cold without using matches. Our guide will give you some tips about how to cook on an open fire like a true local.
Halfway through the hike, we'll take a break to climb up an observation tower and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire snow-covered forest. This is Arctic nature at its finest!
Although Rovaniemi is known for its snowy scenery almost all year round, the forests in the capital of Lapland turn brown and green in the spring, making way for an equally breathtaking landscape.
