Rovaniemi Moose Watching Safari
Tour Details
After picking you up at the designated time in Rovaniemi, we'll board a vehicle and leave the Lapland capital behind to head into the lush forests surrounding the city.
Once on the road through the forest, we'll start spotting curious traffic signs reading "caution, moose." Finland is home to around 100,000 moose, and as we drive, we'll tell you all about the habits of these Nordic mammals. Did you know they're the largest wild animals in Europe? These shy creatures can weigh up to 700 kilos (1,543 pounds) and stand up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) tall. Incredible!
We'll also be lucky enough to be out during late afternoon, the best time to spot these beautiful animals, as dawn and dusk are their most active periods.
We'll round off the tour with a traditional Lapland snack: gingerbread cookies and a warm drink. A very welcome treat!
After 4 hours of activity, we'll head back to the pickup point in Rovaniemi.
