Moose Safari
If you're in Lapland, don't miss out this incredible safari through the forests of Rovaniemi, where you'll see moose, Europe's largest wild animal.
Moose Safari
After picking you up from your hotel in Rovaniemi between 7 and 9 pm, we'll board a vehicle and zoom away from the capital of Lapland towards the lush forests surrounding the city.
Once on the road through the woods, we'll start to see funny traffic signs warning you about the moose on the loose. Finland is home to around 100,000 moose. Along the way, we'll tell you all about how these Nordic mammals live. Did you know that they are the largest wild animals in Europe? These shy creatures can weigh up to 700 kilos and be up to 7 ft tall!
We'll also be lucky enough to do this activity late in the afternoon, which is the best time to see these magnificent mammals as they are most active at sunrise and sunset.
The tour will end after we enjoy a delicious traditional snack from Laponia. How do ginger biscuits and a hot drink sound?
Lastly, after three and a half hours, we'll make our way back to your hotel in Rovaniemi.
Pickup
Pickup is from hotels located within a radius of 15 kilometers from the center of Rovaniemi. After you have made your reservation, we'll contact you to arrange the exact time. In case your accommodation is in the center of Rovaniemi, you'll need to go directly to the office located at Maakuntakatu 29.
Moose
Moose live wild within the environment to be visited, so it's impossible to be sure they will be seen during the excursion. However, we'll access the areas where they are most commonly found and, with a little luck, we'll be able to see several specimens.
