  • 11 hours

Travel scenic California’s Pacific Coast Highway 1 to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula, famous for its spectacular ocean views, abundant wildlife, and historical past.

Itinerary

Visit California's "first city", and the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico, where sights include Cannery Row so named after John Steinbeck set one of his books, "Cannery Row" in Ocean View Avenue, Monterey. You can visit the great shops and restaurants overlooking the Pacific, not to mention the world-famous Monterey Aquarium, and the town is rich with history, including possessing California's first theatre, public building, public library, publicly funded school, printing press, and newspaper.

You'll have two hours to explore Monterrey and the quaint, picture perfect enclave of Carmel-by-the-Sea, before the tour in an air-conditioned bus takes you down the idyllic "17-Mile Drive". Hugging the Pacific coast and passing by famous golf courses such as Pebble Beach, mansions and stunning scenery such as the wind-lashed Lone Cypress (known as 'the most photographed tree in North America') and Bird Rock.

The tour makes stops for photographs and with snaps snapped neither you nor your friends will be left in no doubt as to why this area is renowned as one of the most spectacular in California.

Tour With Aquarium Ticket

To make your time in Monterrey even more special, you can reserve the tour with tickets to the famous Monterrey aquarium, considered one of the best in the world thanks to more than 35 thousand marine animals including jellyfish, sea otters, and several species of shark.
