Tour Details
After meeting at the designated time in front of the National Theatre, we'll embark on a two-wheeled adventure through Costa Rica's capital where we'll discover some of San José's most emblematic locations. Let's get pedalling!
After a warm welcome, we'll give you your bicycles and helmets before travelling down one of the main avenues in the historical centre. We'll take Calle 5, crossing Avenues 2, 0, 5, and 7, and passing in front of Parque Morazán. This bike tour will continue in the Amón, Otoya, and Aranjuez neighbourhoods. We'll also cycle through Parque España to see the Knöhr Hoffman House and the Calderón Guardia Hospital.
After all this cycling, you're bound to be hungry. In that case, it's time to visit El Frontón! This local restaurant is referred to by locals as 'sodas' and serves homemade food. Located in front of the Plaza de las Garantías Sociales, this spot offers the best Costa Rican empanadas in the country. To confirm it, we'll indulge in the dish. What a well-deserved treat!
Next, we'll hop back onto our bikes in search of the Cafeoteca, or Modo Café, depending on the day of the week. Here, we'll have a coffee tasting to delight our tastebuds with one of the best beverages in Central America. You'll bear witness to the local techniques used to prepare this quintessential Costa Rican drink. What a delight!
Lastly, we'll return to our initial starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 3.5 hours. See you again soon!
