South Galapagos Islands 5 Day Cruise

Day 1: Baltra, Santa Cruz & South Plaza Islands

On the day of your arrival, we'll pick you up from the Galapagos Islands Airport on Baltra Island. From there, we'll head to the boat that we'll take around the southern part of the Galapagos archipelago.

Our first stop will be at Las Bachas Beach on Santa Cruz Island. This unique place, whose name comes from World War II, has extensive sand dunes where sea turtles build their nests. Not far from here, we'll also see a lagoon where we'll be able to see different wading birds such as herons and plovers.

Lastly, we'll get back on the boat and set off for South Plaza Island.

Day 2: South Plaza, Santa Fe & San Cristóbal Islands

As a new day dawns over the Pacific paradise, we'll disembark at South Plaza Island and observe one of the world's largest populations of land iguanas. We'll walk along a trail around the coast to see different types of reptiles: terrestrial, marine and hybrid. In addition, we'll see flocks of tropical birds and a sea lion colony.

We'll then head to Santa Fe Island, where we'll take a pleasant boat ride around the beautiful turquoise lagoon. Next, we'll step off the boat and go on a walk in search of the island's resident sea lions, Galapagos hawks and endemic land iguanas. You'll be surprised to see the resemblance between this last species and a dinosaur!

Last of all, we'll board the boat for a delicious dinner and set sail for San Cristobal.

Day 3: San Cristóbal, Lobos & Española Islands

When we reach San Cristóbal Island, we'll get off the boat at Cerro Brujo Beach. In this magical place, we're likely to cross paths with blue-footed boobies, brown pelicans and iguanas. We'll also have the chance to take a short boat trip around Kicker Rock, an eroded cone of volcanic tuff which frigate birds and many tropical species call home. Make sure you look in the crystal clear water, where you'll see all kinds of fish.

Our next stop will be Lobos Island, an uninhabited area where we'll see lots of sea lions. We'll also learn some fascinating details about the animals that live here and how the archipelago was formed.

After visiting Lobos Island, we'll take the boat to Española Island.

Day 4: Española & Santa Cruz Islands

During our visit to Española Island, we'll explore Punta Suárez and discuss why the Galapagos Islands have become a haven for zoologists. On this island, we'll also see iguanas, tortoises, sea lions, lizards and all kinds of birds.

Next, we'll set off for Gardner Bay. This spot boasts a white sandy beach and populations of bird species such as swallow-tailed gulls, hawks, albatrosses and hooded mockingbirds. You'll be able to do some snorkelling here and take a panga boat ride to see the Gardner and Osborn Islets.

There you can snorkel and take a panga boat ride to observe the Gardner and Osborn Islets.

Day 5: Santa Cruz & Baltras Islands

We'll get off the boat at Santa Cruz and visit its highlands and the private Las Primicias ranch. At this unique reserve, we'll get to see the huge Santa Cruz tortoises in their natural habitat.

After an unforgettable 5 days of adventure, we'll take you back to the Galapagos Islands Airport on Baltras Island.
