Cajón del Maipo and Chilean Folk Celebration
If you're in Santiago de Chile and want to explore the most beautiful scenery in the Andes and get to know traditional Chilean folklore, this activity is perfect for you. We'll pick you up from your hotel and kick off a full-day trip that combines a visit to Cajón del Maipo with a Chilean folk celebration.
First, we'll travel by minibus to Cajón del Maipo. Along the way, you'll fall in love with the mountain passes, lakes, and forests we'll pass. The 1-hour drive will take us into the green heart of the region, and your guide will share its history as we go.
We'll pass through the El Tinoco Tunnel, a historic railroad tunnel along the road known as the Camino al Volcán. After hearing the many legends surrounding this relic of the region's railroad era, we'll arrive at the El Yeso Reservoir, high in the Andes. Ready to take in a one-of-a-kind view of crystal-clear water with the mountains behind it?
After enjoying this beautiful scenery, we'll head to Serranía Maipo camp, where we'll enjoy a picnic-style lunch and watch a traditional dance show. For about 2.5 hours, we'll listen to traditional folk music, admire the colorful costumes, and even join in some unique traditional games. It's the best way to dive into Chilean culture!
Finally, after this cultural immersion, we'll head back to Santiago de Chile, where we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel after 10 hours.
