Angkor Wat, Bayon, Roluos, Banteay Srei, Ta Prohm... Delve deep into the hidden secrets of Angkor on this three day tour of its temples: undoubtedly the best way to discover the biggest religious monument in the world!
After being picked up from your hotel, you'll head to Ta Promh, one of Angkor's most unique temples, which over centuries of abandonment has been slowly taken over by nature. Roots and branches from the overgrowing jungle snake over its crumbling walls and columns, creating a truly magical scene.
Continue your exploration of tree-covered temples at Ta Nei: less well known by tourists, the ancient stone ruins of this Buddhist shrine are equally as beautiful.
Around midday, you'll stop at a local restaurant for a typical lunch, before spending your afternoon discovering the ancient city of Angkor Thom and the Bayon and Baphuon temples there. As evening draws in, you'll watch an unforgettable sunset over Angkor Wat as you enjoy a drink of Cambodian liqueur.
Returning to Siem Reap, you'll have the rest of the night free.
You'll start your day early, being picked up at 5 am and heading to Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise. In the morning light, you'll then explore Cambodia's largest and most iconic temple. In spite of the ancient city having been deserted for over 500 years, this incredible building has remained a place of worship since its foundation in the 12th century, and you'll see Buddhist monks meditating in its surroundings to this day.
Visit the dilapidated Banteay Kdei monastery, before a well-deserved break in a nearby restaurant for a delicious lunch.
After eating, you'll head to Banteay Srei. Built in the 10th century, the intricate details of the reliefs decorating this red sandstone temple can still be admired today. Its depictions of mythological scenes have led to its nickname as a "jewel of Khmer art". Your next stop will be Banteay Samré, a smaller shrine of the same stone.
You'll then be driven back to your hotel in Siem Reap for the evening.
Having had your breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel to head on your way to the Roluos archaeological site. This ancient town is home to the three oldest Khmer temples: Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko. After exploring these 9th century sanctuaries, you'll visit the modern village where you can experience daily life in the area.
Your next stop will be the port, where you'll board a private boat (not included) which will take you to the Kampong Phluk commune. Throughout your journey, of around one hour, you'll have incredible views over Lake Tonlé Sap.
At Kampong Phluk, you'll visit the Buddhist pagoda and the houses built on bamboo stilts, where you can discover how the villagers live.
Back on land, you'll head back to Roluos to explore the village further, before enjoying lunch in a typical restaurant nearby.
Finally, you'll be taken back to your hotel, finishing your tour around 5:30 pm approximately.
