Discover the Medieval charm and stunning architecture of Tuscany on this guided walking tour of Siena. You'll visit the city's most iconic landmarks accompanied by a local English-speaking guide.
Guided Walking Tour of Siena
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Basilica of San Domenico to begin a guided tour of Siena in which we'll discover the great attractions of the city. Let's go there!
We'll tell you the history of this temple, which houses one of the most venerated relics in Tuscany.
Next, we'll walk through the medieval streets of the old town and discover the palaces and buildings such as Palazzo Salimbeni or the Sanctuary of Santa Caterina that give the city a unique atmosphere in the world.
The guided tour continues in Piazza del Campo, the epicenter of Siena since its construction, which took place in medieval times. There we'll explain to you the reason for its peculiar shape. Also, did you know that the famous Palio di Siena takes place here - we'll tell you all about it!
After admiring the main monuments of the city, such as Palazzo Chigi or the Loggia della Mercanzia, we'll arrive at the show stopper: the cathedral of Siena.
We'll walk around its outer perimeter while taking in the beauty of its sculptures, the baptistery, and the grandeur of its dimensions. In fact, it was to be the largest cathedral in Italy, but the Black Death stopped the works and today we can still see architectural remains of that unfinished project.
Lastly, after two hours, we'll end the tour of Siena in the vicinity of the cathedral.
