Sighisoara Guided Tour
Tour Details
Vlad Tepes, Vlad III, Vlad the Impaler, Dracula... This 15th-century Prince of Wallachia is known by many names and surrounded by countless legends. Which ones are true? We’ll uncover the truth as we explore the mysteries of this medieval ruler and his hometown.
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the Clock Tower Museum to begin our guided tour of Sighișoara. Standing 64 meters tall, the Clock Tower is the most prominent of the nine defensive towers still preserved in the city’s fortress. Did you know this is one of the best-preserved medieval citadels in Europe?
We’ll start our route through Sighișoara’s historic center, making our way to the old church perched on a hilltop. It’s considered the most iconic example of Gothic religious architecture in Transylvania—and offers spectacular views of the city below.
As we stroll through the cobbled streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we’ll share curious facts and hidden stories about the town. One of the most intriguing is linked to Vlad Tepes, the real-life figure who inspired Bram Stoker’s famous novel Dracula. We'll pass by the house where he was born and dive into the region’s vampire legends. You might be surprised by what you learn!
After two hours exploring Sighișoara, we’ll end the tour near our starting point.
