Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the designated time at the Embassy of Slovakia. From this location in Sofia, we'll head to the southeast of Bulgaria, arriving in the city of Plovdiv after travelling for 2 hours. The mix of Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Bulgarian cultures is perfectly reflected in each of its buildings and monuments.

We'll tour the ancient city, walking through the cobbled streets and seeing the colourful houses. We'll also go to the ancient Roman Theatre, one of the city's architectural jewels, and the Regional Ethnographic Museum.

Then, you'll have 1 hour to eat in Plovdiv, known as the City of the Seven Hills. After eating, we'll start a 2-hour journey toward the sanctuary of Starosel, which dates back to the 5th century B.C. Once there, you'll discover the monumental chamber called "tholos," an icon of the warrior culture of the past Thracians.

From Starosel, we'll go on a short trip to the town of Staro Zhelezare, where we'll admire its murals of street art painted by graffiti that depict local and worldwide issues. It's the perfect place for a keepsake photo!

Finally, we'll conclude our day trip of a total of 10 hours by returning to the meeting point in Sofia.
