Free Walking Tour of Taipei

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the NTU Hospital MRT Metro Station Exit No.4, which leads directly into the 228 Peace Memorial Park, built originally as the first European-style park in 1908 during the Japanese colonial period.

Our first stop will take us to the 228 Peace Memorial Park, originally built in 1908 as the first European-style park during the Japanese colonial period. The next stop will be at the National Museum of Taiwan and from there we'll head south through the park to the 228 Peace Memorial, which pays tribute to the victims of a massacre that took place during an anti-government uprising on the 28th of February 1947.

Our route will continue to the Presidential Office. Then we'll discover the authentic local life as we stroll through the Chengzhong market. Afterwards, we'll stop at Zhongshan Hall, one of the most symbolic buildings in Taipei, dating back to 1936.

After learning about its history, we'll go to the Ximending district, where the non-stop hustle and bustle has turned the area into one of the most visited places in the city.

Finally, after between 2.5 and 3 hours, we'll get to the last stop of this walking tour, right in front of Red House. This iconic building has been through a few functions, shifted from public market, bookstore, cinema, to a theater, and also back in time a hub for the hidden LGBTQ community of Taipei.
