2-day tour of the Fergana Valley

Day 1

We will pick you up at your hotel at 7 am, before setting off for Tashkent station. Here we will take a train to Kokand, the first stop on our 2-day tour of the stunning Fergana Valley. This area is considered to be the cradle of Uzbek handicrafts.

After a two-hour journey, we will arrive in Kokand. We will start by exploring the most important city of Fergana by visiting the Khudovar-Khan Palace, which reflects the importance of this area in the commercial network of Uzbekistan. We will also enjoy the majestic architecture of the Jami Mosque and the Norbut-biv Madrasa. Two of the city's monumental treasures.

In the afternoon, we will visit the village of Ok Yer, where you will have the opportunity to meet a Kyrgyz family expert in the production of wool carpets. Afterward, we will go to Rishtan to visit a traditional ceramic workshop.

We will finish the day in Fergana and rest in a hotel in the city.

Day 2

The second day of the trip starts with a delicious breakfast before we head to the picturesque Akhmad Al Fergani park, where we will learn about the history of this renowned astronomer. On Thursdays and Sundays, we can also visit the biggest market in the Fergana valley: the Kumtepa bazaar.

The next stop of the tour will be Margilan, a city famous for housing the Said Akhmad-Khoja Madrasa. This Islamic school is also home to several artisans who produce handmade carpets and silks, and you will learn all about the fascinating manufacturing process!

Finally, we will visit the Yodgorlik silk factory, where you will witness first hand this traditional industry of the Fergana Valley. Finally, we start the return journey to Tashkent, where we will arrive after a five-hour journey. The tour will end back at your hotel at 9:30 pm.
