Nazi Tunnels & Gross-Rosen Concentration Camp

At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the New Horizons cinema in Wrocław and set off for the Gross-Rosen State Museum. After approximately 1.5 hours on the road, we'll arrive at this former Nazi concentration camp, one of the most sobering places in Lower Silesia.

Before the visit begins, we'll hand out your tickets and audio guides. Once ready, you'll watch an introductory video that provides context on the history of the site, how it operated, and the fate of its prisoners.

You'll then explore the camp independently. Over approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, you'll see the main areas of the complex, defined by a functional, harsh architecture designed for control, isolation, and exploitation.

You'll visit the barracks area, the former SS canteen, the crematoria, the memorial, and the granite quarry, which was central to the forced labor system. Gross-Rosen was particularly feared for the brutal conditions in the quarry, where exhaustion was built into the mechanism of terror itself.

After this first visit, we'll travel for approximately 1 hour to Osówka, one of the sectors of the enigmatic Project Riese. Before heading inside, you'll have 1 hour of free time to rest and have lunch at the restaurant.

We'll then enter the Nazi tunnels of Project Riese, which you'll also explore independently with the audio guide.

Over approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, you'll make your way through galleries carved into the rock, underground chambers, and surveillance areas. To this day, it remains unclear whether Project Riese was intended as a secret headquarters, a military factory, or a vast strategic shelter. One more unsolved mystery of the Third Reich.

Finally, we'll head back to Wrocław, saying our goodbyes at the original meeting point after a total of 8 hours.
