Although I had been told it was a small park, we ended up seeing many animals, and some very close up! The landscape is lush and truly beautiful. We saw lots of baboons, elephants, a herd of buffalo, a leopard in a tree and a young lion, hippos, giraffes, gazelles, antelopes, and various birds.

Arusha Tours & Activities | Discover Tanzania's Adventure Hub

Arusha is the gateway to some of Tanzania’s most spectacular wildlife and natural wonders. Nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, this vibrant city bustles with colorful markets, lively streets, and views of distant peaks. It is the perfect starting point for unforgettable safaris and adventures in the heart of East Africa.

Traces of the Past

Founded in the early 20th century as a colonial outpost, Arusha soon grew into a major center for international diplomacy and tourism. Today, the city serves as the headquarters for several major organizations, including the East African Community, and is celebrated for its welcoming spirit and cultural diversity.

When to Visit

The best time to explore this region is during the dry seasons, from June to October and again from late December to February. During these months, wildlife spotting is at its best, and outdoor activities can be enjoyed under clear, sunny skies.

How do I get there?

Most travelers arrive by flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport, located about 45 minutes from the city. Regular shuttle buses and taxis are available for a smooth transfer to your accommodation.
