Aegina Day Trip
Day Trip to Aegina from Athens
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Port of Piraeus, where we'll board a ferry that will take us to Aegina in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once on the island, considered a gem of the Saronic Gulf, we'll start our walking tour to discover its charms.
First, we'll travel back in time to the former Byzantine capital of Palaiochora. We'll explore some of its 28 medieval churches and enjoy the views from the top. Afterward, we'll visit the impressive Monastery of Agios Nektarios, one of the largest pilgrimage centers in the Balkans.
Then, you'll admire one of the best-preserved Greek temples in the world: the Temple of Aphaia. Its archaic architecture and strategic location, forming the "Sacred Triangle" with the Parthenon and the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sunion, will leave you breathless.
Next, you'll have Seguidamente, os dejaremos 2 hours of free time to take a dip in the beautiful beach of Aegina and taste fresh seafood in the local seaside taverns. Enjoy!
After regrouping, we'll stroll along the streets toward the port. We'll admire the Neoclassical mansions and, before returning, we'll enjoy a tasting of its famous pistachios, the island's star product.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to the starting point in the Port of Piraeus, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 11 hours.
