At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Auckland and start this day trip to Hobbiton and Rotorua. Let's go!
On the way south, we'll tell you interesting facts and stories about New Zealand's biggest city as we enjoy views of some of its most iconic points of interest
During the journey, we'll cross the Waikato countryside, one of the largest agricultural areas in the world. Keep your eyes peeled for big mountains, a variety of friendly animals, rushing rivers and beautiful scenery. Photo time!
After this tour, we'll arrive at our first destination, Hobbiton, the famous film set of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. We'll spend 2 hours touring The Shire, visiting the 44 hobbit holes and gardens and uncovering all the film secrets. We'll also enjoy a drink in the legendary Green Dragon™ Inn. There's nothing better than enjoying a hobbit beer by the fireside!
After this experience, we'll head to Tirau, also known as the World Capital of Wrought Iron, on our way to Rotorua. This picturesque village, with its curious wrought iron sculptures, is bound to make you smile! Once you start getting hungry, we'll have a stop where you can grab a bite to eat if you wish.
Once in Rotorua, we'll explore the fascinating Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland for a guided tour. Upon arrival, we'll be surrounded by beautiful scenery, including Lake Champagne, Devil's Bath, mud pools and geothermal craters. The colours and formations in this place will leave you astounded. You'll feel as if you're on a different planet!
We'll then enjoy a scenic drive around Rotorua's iconic landmarks, such as Lake Rotorua, the Rotorua Museum, the Government Gardens, Whangapipiro Spring and the Blue Baths. If we have enough time, we can also stop at a local shop to try some Manuka honey and find a souvenir. What a great way to end the tour!
Finally, we'll bid farewell at the departure point in Aukland 13 hours after the start of the activity.
