The landscapes of the Lord of the Rings, geothermal activity, the rich Maori culture... discover all this and much more on the Hobbiton and Rotorua Tour.
Hobbiton & Rotorua Tour
At 6:30 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in the centre of Auckland and set off for Matamata. After a two-and-a-half hour drive through the green hills, we'll reach our first destination: Hobbiton.
We'll explore Middle-earth alongside a guide who'll tell us everything we need to know about Hobbiton. You'll get to see the Hobbit Holes™, the Mill and even the Green Dragon™ Inn, where you'll be able to enjoy a Hobbit™ Southfarthing™ beverage.
Next, we'll head to Rotorua, a city well-known for its geothermal activity. In Te Puia Park, we'll head to the famous Pohutu Geyser and discover the power of geothermal activity in this area. We'll also get an insight into Maori culture as we watch an iconic Haka dance and learn some traditional songs.
Afterwards, we'll enjoy a delicious Maori buffet lunch. And that isn't all, as we'll also get the chance to meet New Zealand's famous kiwi bird that is in danger of extinction.
At the end of the day, we'll make our way back to Auckland, where we'll drop you off at your hotel at around 6 pm.
