Discover the pearl of the Danube River with this Budapest Free Tour. You'll explore the charms of the Hungarian capital including the Parliament, Erzsébet Square and much more.
Budapest Free Tour
At the appointed time, we'll meet outside the Kossuth Lajos Tér metro station, next to the Budapest Parliament, to start the free tour around the capital of Hungary.
Before we begin, we'll admire the facade of the Parliament building, a majestic construction on the banks of the Danube River that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe.
Following on, we'll walk to the Liberty Square, where we'll learn about communist Hungary and see the monument dedicated to the victims of the Second World War as well as another controversial sculpture which has divided Hungarians.
The tour will continue to St. Stephen's Basilica, the largest church in Budapest. Its bell weighs 9 tonnes! You'll soon understand why this neoclassical temple took 54 years to build. As we walk through the centre of Budapest we'll reveal the city's history marked by the presence of Celts, Romans, Ottomans and Germans.
We'll make a brief stop at Erzsébet Square, built in honour of Elizabeth of Bavaria, the famous Sissi Empress. Then we'll go to Ferenc Deák Square where the Lutheran Church of Budapest is located.
The Budapest free tour will finish in front of the Great Synagogue after two and a half hours.
