Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll start this free tour of Cartagena from the historic centre of the city, one of the most emblematic of the coast of Murcia.

We'll begin this walking tour exploring the port of Cartagena, the hallmark of this 3,000-year-old city, and we'll tell you why! We'll continue walking along the sea until we reach the Naval Museum area, where the prototype of Isaac Peral's submarine is located. From there, we'll continue our visit to the Plaza Héroes de Cavite, with its imposing obelisk that pays homage to the fallen.

Next, we'll see the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and the colourful Palacio Consistorial, one of the jewels of modernism in the city. From here begins the busy Calle Mayor, Cartagena's main shopping street.

We'll walk towards the main monument of the Murcian city: the Roman Theatre. After this obligatory stop, we'll continue walking towards the heart of the city, discovering some of the busiest places in the city, such as the Plaza San Francisco, a key place for gastronomy and leisure in Cartagena.

From Plaza San Francisco, we'll access the Roman Forum district, where we'll have the opportunity to climb up to the Cerro del Molinete hill to enjoy both its views and the Archaeological Park that is located there.

We'll then walk around the hill to access Santa Florentina street, which is famous for its bakeries and its famous 'churrería', a churros shop, and which will connect us with Cartagena's Calle Mayor, the heart of the city's historic centre.

After a 2.5-hour tour, we'll finish our free tour of Cartagena in front of one of the most emblematic buildings in the city, the Gran Hotel.
