Copenhagen Private Walking Tour

After meeting your expert English-speaking guide on the day of your tour, you'll begin your private walking tour of Copenhagen. Remember, you can pick the places of interest that you'd most like to see, tailoring your visit to your tastes.

Your tour guide will take you to the Danish capital's most iconic landmarks and monuments, keeping you entertained and informed with their explanations and fun facts. Head to Nyhavn, the 17th-century waterfront district characterised by its brightly-coloured houses, to admire the historic architecture and the traditional wooden boats harboured there. From there, you can enjoy a 20 minute stroll along the promenade to the statue of the Little Mermaid of Copenhagen, one of the city's most recognisable symbols.

Not far from the Mermaid, you'll find Kastellet, or "The Citadel", one of the best-preserved fortresses in Northern Europe, constructed in the shape of a star. See the windmill inside the bastion, used to grind flour to provide food in case of a siege.

If you feel like delving deeper into the history of the Danish royals, you could also choose to visit the beautiful 17th-century Renaissance-style Rosenborg Castle, or the Christiansborg Palace, still an important political building to this day, as the seat of the Danish parliament.

Why book a private tour?

When you reserve a private guided tour, you have the benefit of personalised service and fascinating commentary on the history, myths and legends of the places you visit from an expert English-speaking guide exclusively for you and your group. You can also design your own itinerary, choosing the places that interest you the most.

Pickup

This private walking tour of Copenhagen begins from the main entrance to the Copenhagen Central Station, on the esplanade in front of Tivoli Gardens, or from The Little Mermaid statue, depending on your preference.

If you'd prefer to start your tour from another location, provided it's in the central area of the Danish capital (zones 1 and 2), you can reserve the tour including a pickup service. When you book this option, your guide will meet you at your hotel or the central point you indicate in your reservation. From there, you'll begin your walking tour of the city. Please bear in mind that the pickup time is included in the two-hour tour duration.
