Perito Moreno Glacier Hike

  • English and Spanish
  • 4-10 hours

Discover the wild nature of Patagonia and hike across the magnificent glacier of Perito Moreno when you take this hiking trip.

Hiking in Glacier Perito Moreno

We will meet up in the morning in the Bajo Las Sombras port, where we will board a ferry to take us across Lake Rico. Once we reach the other side, we will begin our trek to the Perito Moreno Glacier. When we arrive at the visitor's site, we will put on our crampons and begin our ascent to the top of one of the world's natural wonders.

For approximately two hours, we will follow a route through one of the most impressive landscapes of Patagonia. Our guide will tell us all the secrets and fascinating facts about the local flora, fauna, and geology, with a particular emphasis on the rupture cycle of the glacier.

When we have finished our hike over the glacier, we will return to the refuge. After, a brief rest, we will cross to the southern arm of the lake, known as 'Brazo Rico' where we will enjoy a wonderful boat trip up to edge of the glacier.

When the cruise has come to an end, we will begin our return journey to El Calafate.
