Walk among beautiful glaciers, mountains, and forests when you take this hiking route around the wonderful Laguna Capri. Departing from El Chalten, our guide will take you deep into the stunning Los Glaciares National Park.
Laguna Capri Hike
We will meet up at the San Martin Lake Offices in El Chalten at 12 pm to begin our two and half-mile hike around Laguna Capri.
We begin at the Rio de las Vueltas viewpoint which gives us a good panoramic view of the valleys and mountains of the Los Glaciers National Park.
We will walk through the Patagonian forest, characterized by elegant Antartic beeches and white oaks. After a delightful hike for about two hours, we will finally arrive at Laguna Capri.
Then, for approximately an hour and a half, we will rest and enjoy the magnificent views of Fitz Roy mountain, also known as Cerro Chaltén. During the trip, you will hear all about how for many years this mountain was actually believed to be a volcano.
After relaxing and admiring this magnificent natural monument, which reaches up to over 11,000 feet high, we will return to El Chaltén. The tour finishes back at the original meeting point at 5 pm.
