Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Galleria dell'Accademia to begin our tour of Florence, the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery. Let's go!
Our first stop is at the Galleria dell'Accademia where we'll discover extraordinary works from masters like Paolo Uccello, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Sandro Botticelli and Andrea del Sarto. The highlight of course will be Michelangelo's world-famous David. We'll admire this masterpiece and learn about the incredible history behind it, in addition to admiring others works by Michelangelo, such as the Pietà and the Prisoners.
After admiring stunning masterpieces, we'll give you some free time to enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants nearby. Then, with newfound energies, we'll set off on a guided tour of the Cathedral of Florence. This masterpiece of Renaissance architecture will unfold before us as we learn about the ingenuity and creativity of its design that stand out as a testament to the Renaissance period.
Our journey continues with a walking tour of Florence, starting from Piazza del Duomo. We'll immerse ourselves in Florence's past, marked by the storied struggles of ancient Florentine families. We'll explore iconic landmarks like the Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio, bringing us to the Grand Uffizi Courtyard.
Lastly, we'll visit the Uffizi Gallery. Once inside, we'll learn all the details of the stunning works which the gallery houses. We'll see masterpieces of Italian art from renowned artists like da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Botticelli. Along the way, we'll learn about the techniques and innovations these masters used in their work, lending Florence the name of 'the heart of the Renaissance.'
At this final stop, we'll bring our experience to an end at the Uffizi Gallery, 5 hours later. While our tour will come to a close, feel free to continue roaming the illustrious halls at your own pace and revisit your favorite pieces. See you next time!
