Tour Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Galle for a 2.5-hour drive to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Ready to venture into this World Heritage Site?
Upon arrival, we'll embark on a tour of this 1,100-hectare (2,718-acre) reserve, which is on the list of the few remaining virgin forests in the world. We'll visit a landscape that is humid, mysterious and full of life.
We'll start walking through the green heart of Sri Lanka in search of its local flora and fauna. We'll find a great variety of tropical trees and plants, as well as an amazing waterfall.
In terms of wildlife, there are more than 130 types of birds, including 33 species native to Sri Lanka. In addition, there is a dense population of reptiles, such as snakes and chameleons, and insects that have not even been classified yet! We'll also be accompanied by mammals such as the purple-faced langur monkey and the Indian giant squirrel.
Throughout our hike through Sinharaja, we'll make a few stops to rest and stay hydrated, as well as enjoy lunch in the middle of the forest. You'll even have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the middle of nature. What more could you ask for?
At the end of the tour, we'll return to Galle and drop you off at your hotel to conclude a day full of adventure, wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
