At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Guatemala City and spend the morning travelling to Cobán.
On the way, we'll take a break to visit the Quetzal Refuge and try to spot the national bird of Guatemala. We'll tell you many interesting facts about the plumage and way of life of this species. You'll also enjoy the cloud forest and its flora and fauna.
At the end of the visit, we'll take you to your accommodation in Cobán where you'll spend the next two nights. There you'll have the afternoon free to explore the 19th-century El Calvario church, the Cathedral, the La Paz Park and other emblematic sites. See you tomorrow!
After enjoying breakfast, we'll get into a 4x4 to drive to Semuc Champey, where we'll arrive after a 2-hour drive.
We'll hike through the Tropical Forest of Semuc Champey to a viewpoint, from which we'll be able to see the Cahabón River and the natural pools. You'll also be able to take a well-deserved dip!
After drying off, we'll have a picnic in the open air and continue the day exploring the interior of the Lanquín caves. Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel in Cobán to rest until the next day.
Good morning! The last day of the tour will be dedicated to the return trip to Guatemala City. However, first, we'll visit the Rey Marcos Caves to enjoy an adventure in connection with nature.
During the tour through the interior of these caves, we'll notice the various formations that the water has sculpted with the minerals contained in the limestone of the Alta Verapaz region.
Finally, we'll stop so you can go get lunch and rest halfway through the journey.
We'll finish the activity by dropping you off at your hotel at approximately 5 pm.
This tour includes two nights' accommodation in a double or triple room at the Park Hotel Resort in Cobán (4 stars). Children aged 3 to 11 will stay in the same room as their parents or guardians in an extra bed.
