Considered as one of the most representative buildings in not just the city, but in the whole country, the National Capitol will welcome us with its huge doors. Once inside, we'll visit the famous Hall of the Lost Steps. We'll be left stunned from the very first minute!
While we make our way through the building, we'll notice the ostentatious ornaments with its gleaming and impressive stained glass windows. We'll learn about its recent restoration and the reasons why it was carried out. Pay attention, as this is the highest representation of political power in Cuba!
We'll then arrive in front of The Republic to admire this amazing bronze sculpture which is a representation of the Greek goddess Athena. It's almost 18 metres tall! Did you know that this is the third tallest indoor statue in the world?
After seeing this marvel, we'll eventually arrive at the Tomb of the Unknown Mambí, an important guerilla fighter in the struggle for Cuban independence. We'll continue the guided tour of the National Capitol by learning about the decoration of the furniture made by a prestigious London-based company.
