Cruise across Havana Harbour to explore Regla and discover the history and importance of this small town in Afro-Cuban culture and religion.
Regla Culture & Religion Tour
Having been picked up from the Hotel Inglaterra you'll be taken to the Puerto de la Luz, the port where the Lanchita de Regla ferry will be waiting for you. Join Havana's locals in climbing aboard for the speedy ten minute journey across the harbour to the town of Regla.
Just two minutes walk from the dock, you'll find the famous Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla. It may have a modest exterior, but the church has an important history: it is dedicated to the Virgin of Regla, who is represented by a black Madonna and venerated in both the Catholic faith and in the Yoruba religion known as Santería in Cuba. Around the church we'll see many santera women who can read palms and carry out good luck rituals.
We'll also get to see other rituals of santería on the boardwalk near the church, where animal sacrifices are performed. Then we'll hop in a classic 1950s car and head to the Christ of Havana. From the hilltop where it's located we'll enjoy extraordinary views of the bay.
At the end of your tour of Regla, we'll take you back to your original departure point.
The classic car in which you'll return to Havana city centre has a maximum capacity of three people. If there are more than three people on the tour, two cars will be used
